Comparative Assessment of Genetic Variability Realised in Doubled Haploids Induced from F1 and F2 Plants for Response to Fusarium Stalk Rot and Yield Traits in Maize (Zea mays L.)

چکیده
Doubled-haploid lines (DHs) are normally produced from F1 plants in maize (Zea mays L.). Several studies have found a low frequency of recombinants doubled haploids that could limit the selection response. Hence, an attempt was made to produce F2 generation verify whether one more round meiotic recombination lead increased genetic variability and assess response selection. The two cross-combinations, VL1043 × CM212 VL121096 CM202, were subjected doubled-haploid production evaluated terms their reaction Fusarium stalk rot yield traits along with individuals same crosses. There significant variation number DHs when DH cross CM202. Furthermore, substantial observed among (DHF1s), (DHF2s), F2s for (FSR) resistance. variance extensive DHF2 compared DHF1 CM212. Extreme candidate (highly resistant, highly susceptible) standardized range than DHs. In populations, close correspondence between phenotypic coefficient (PCV) genotypic (GCV) indicated less influence environment plants. heritability estimates greater cross, while CM202 almost due relatively small population size positively skewed leptokurtic distribution populations role fewer genes, majority them exhibiting complementary epistasis decreasing effects FSR. mean estimated top crosses randomly chosen similar magnitude.

Genetic Analysis for Yield Potential and Quality Traits in Maize (Zea mays L.)
Abstract: Grain yield is a complex phenomenon which results from the interaction of various contributing factors highly influenced by environmental variation. Phenotypic selection cannot directly improve the characters in heterozygous crops like maize unless dissected by genetic analysis. Gene action for various quantitative and qualitative traits was explored in a complete set of diallel invol...

متن کاملGenetic analysis of Biochemical and Physiological Traits using Haymen’s Graphical Approach in Lines and F2 Progenies of Maize (Zea mays L.)
The diallel mating design is an important tool used by plant breeding programs to obtain information on trait inheritance. Knowledge of gene action, heritability and genetic advance from selection is a prerequisite for starting a breeding program for developing varieties of maize. Five maize S7 lines and their F2 progenies were studied in a 5 × 5 half-diallel crossing design to evaluate the gen...
